Davide Piersanti (1971) is a trombonist, improviser, composer, multi-instrumentalist, performer and instructor from Rome-Italy.

He moved in Berlin since 2013.

He is a transversal musician  that plays in a different approaches and musical areas as: free improvisation, avant-jazz, funk, electronic music, score music, film sonorization, conduction-orchestra and along with dance performers

DP born In Rome,1971. At 17 starting to play, as DJ, singer and electric bass player, all at the same time.

Has been collecting several youngly experiences especially in the dub/hip-hop, rock and progressive-rock, which shaped his open-mind approach into the music.

 

A little bit after as going to approch Jazz. He starting to play trombone and studying with some trombone teachers, but mainly is a self-taught musician.          

After while He is graduated at conservatoire Licinio Refice of Frosinone (Italy) in jazz and modern musical disciplines.       

During the years he is attended workshop about: jazz improvisation, conduction orchestra, physical theater, music therapy, didactic of music.

He composing music indifferent  range: solo, orchestra, bands, theater companies, multidisciplinary groups, movies soundtracks.

He plays and has recorded in different genres of music: free improvisation, jazz, songwriting-music, world-music,  funk.

From 2002 he began to play constantly and intensively free music encountered hundreds of musicians.

He played with among others:

Ken Hyder, Uli Gumpert, Daniel Carter, Federico Ughi, Jack Wright, Mike Cooper, Fabrizio Spera, Geoff Leigh, Eugenio Colombo, Marco Ariano, Michael Thieke, Roberto Bellatalla, Dirk Dhonau, Harri Sjostrom,, Matthias Bauer, Tristan Honsinger and many others.

He's been leaded by relevant internationally well-knowed composer and conductor as: Lawrence "Butch" Morris, Alvin Curran, or avantgarde musicians: Tim Hodgkinson, Gino Robair.

He recorded and played album as a session man with song-writers

(Francesco Forni, Collettivo Angelo Mai, Carmen Consoli). or funk, art-rock and improvisation: 

Funkallisto, Iato Orchestra, Stadtfish flexible orchestra, Sound Painting Italian Orchestra, London Improvisers Orchestra)

 

In the far past he founded a Klezmer-Balcanic band , Taraf Orchestra and played with several world-music artists: Nour Eddine Fatty, Jamal Ouassini, Lula Pena, ecc.

He worked with the electronic musicians and researcher:. Fabio Paolizzo, Simone Pappalardo.

He worked with butoh dancers as: Alessando Pintus,   collaborates with Michiyasu Furutani and in multidisciplinary projects.

 

Currently has a solo project, leads some bands:

He toured in Italy, Germany, Usa, France, Switzerland, Austria, Great Britain.
